Looking for a BYD SEALION 7 for sale in Jamaica often leads to two different offers: a vehicle already on the island, or an export quotation from an overseas supplier. Before comparing the prices, make sure both offers describe the same car and the same delivery responsibilities.
CHINA EV SOURCE helps overseas buyers source Chinese vehicles in factory right-hand-drive specification. For a SEALION 7 enquiry to Jamaica, our starting point is the exact version, its condition and the documents needed for the intended import route—not a headline price attached to a catalogue photo.
This guide focuses on the questions that matter before ordering: RWD or AWD, the requested battery capacity, new versus previously registered stock, charging, inspection and shipping to Kingston.

Start with the SEALION 7 you actually want to buy
The SEALION 7 is a five-seat battery-electric SUV. It is different from the SEALION 6 plug-in hybrid and the seven-seat SEALION 8. If you are comparing China EV export offers, keep the model name, steering position and powertrain together on every quotation.
For a Jamaica order, specify factory RHD, RWD or AWD, battery capacity, model year, exterior and interior colours, and new or used status. A family with reliable overnight charging may prioritise purchase cost and everyday range. A buyer who specifically wants dual-motor performance should request an AWD offer separately. AWD does not remove the need to evaluate tyre condition, ground clearance and the roads on which the car will be used.
Our SEALION 7 RHD vehicle page is a starting point for an enquiry. The signed specification for the actual vehicle takes precedence over a general model description.
Does SEALION 7 AWD mean a 91.3kWh battery?
No. Battery specification varies by market, model year and trim. Do not assume every AWD vehicle has the largest battery advertised elsewhere.
If your requirement is SEALION 7 AWD with a 91.3kWh battery, state both requirements in writing. Ask the supplier to match the VIN and model code to supporting manufacturer specifications. An AWD badge, a dashboard range estimate or a photograph copied from another market is not sufficient evidence.
Compare range figures only when the test standard is identified. NEDC, WLTP and CLTC figures are not interchangeable, and none is a promise of your daily driving distance. For travel beyond your normal commute, plan charging stops with a reserve rather than using the catalogue figure as the distance between chargers.
New or nearly new: check registration history before the price
A low odometer reading tells you how far a car has travelled; it does not establish whether it has been registered. A demonstrator or previously registered vehicle can look almost new while requiring a different document and inspection route.
For a used or nearly new SEALION 7, request registration and export records where applicable, production date, odometer evidence, service history, available battery diagnostic information, and checks for accident, flood and underbody damage. Ask what the battery report actually measures and when it was produced.
For a vehicle offered as new, confirm its registration status and the wording that will appear on the invoice and export documents. Have your Jamaican broker review the proposed classification before you commit to the order. Warranty coverage also needs written confirmation: overseas sourcing does not automatically provide local authorised-dealer warranty support.
BYD SEALION 7 price in Jamaica: compare the whole quotation
An overseas vehicle price is not the same as the price of a cleared and registered vehicle in Jamaica. CHINA EV SOURCE quotes against the requested specification, condition, quantity and delivery term. Ask for a dated quotation rather than treating an old online price as current stock.
FOB: confirm the named Chinese loading port and included origin services. Main freight and marine insurance are normally arranged by the buyer.
CFR, sometimes called CNF: includes the agreed freight to the named destination port, but does not automatically include insurance.
CIF: includes the agreed freight and marine insurance to the named destination port. Jamaican customs clearance, taxes, registration and home delivery are not included merely because a quote is CIF.
Budget for the vehicle, origin services, freight, insurance, applicable inspection, destination port charges, broker fees, confirmed taxes and local delivery. Have a Jamaican customs broker calculate current import treatment for the exact vehicle; do not assume a fixed EV tax exemption.

Jamaica import permit and ATJ inspection
The Jamaica Trade Board publishes vehicle import-permit procedures through JSWIFT and lists a PSI certificate among the documents for used vehicles. Its notices also address inspection arrangements for used vehicles. Requirements must be checked against the vehicle’s status and actual export country.
Before booking shipment, have the importer or broker confirm permit eligibility and the required inspection route for the exact car. If ATJ pre-shipment inspection applies, agree on an accepted inspection location, booking, sanitisation where required, certificate and timing before loading. A supplier’s own walk-around video is useful but does not replace a required PSIC.
The invoice, VIN, model year, condition and supporting export or registration records should agree. Do not describe a registered car as new simply because it has low mileage. For broader vehicle-selection questions, see our Jamaica RHD car buying guide.
Charging and software: ask for a demonstration
Before selecting a SEALION 7 for Jamaica, send the supplier your intended home-charger and public-charger requirements. Request a clear photo of the actual charging inlet, plus written AC and DC charging specifications. Do not assume that every vehicle sourced in China has the same connector as an overseas-market car.
A qualified local installer should check the supply, earthing, protection and installation requirements for your proposed charger. A travel plug adapter is not a complete charging solution. Confirm cable and charger inclusion in the sales quotation.
Ask for an English-language screen demonstration, and check which phone-integration, app, navigation and connected features work in the destination country. Confirm what remains usable without an overseas account or subscription.
What to see in the inspection video before final payment
Ask for a dated inspection linked to the allocated VIN: the manufacturer label, right-hand-drive cabin and pedals, dashboard with odometer, exterior panels, wheels and tyres, charging inlet, interior condition and supplied accessories. For a used vehicle, add diagnostic and condition reports appropriate to its history.
Have defects and missing equipment recorded before approving the balance. Confirm how any issue will be resolved, who arranges repairs and what support is included after arrival. Our factory RHD verification checklist explains the identity checks in more detail.

Shipping a SEALION 7 from China to Kingston
Request a freight quotation for the actual quantity and vehicle condition. Container or other available vehicle-shipping options depend on carrier acceptance, sailing availability and EV handling requirements. For a single-car order, ask whether the quote covers a dedicated container or another agreed arrangement; do not assume a shared shipment is available.
Separate vehicle preparation time from the sea voyage. Confirm origin port, destination port, transshipment where applicable, estimated departure, estimated transit time, quote validity and destination-charge exclusions. Before loading, align the inspection, permit and document schedule with your broker. Ask for loading photos, securing details and the shipment documents once issued.
Questions Jamaican SEALION 7 buyers ask
Can I order just one SEALION 7 RHD?
Send a one-unit enquiry. Availability, the exact specification and shipping arrangements must be confirmed before an order is accepted.
Can you quote a 91.3kWh AWD version?
State that exact requirement. We will check sourcing availability and supporting specification evidence rather than substitute a different AWD version without agreement.
Is your export quote the Jamaica on-road price?
No. Ask which delivery term is used and have your broker add applicable destination costs, taxes and registration.
Will the car have local BYD warranty?
Do not assume so. Confirm the written warranty provider, territorial coverage, claim process and parts arrangements for the specific vehicle.
What are your payment terms?
Our standard payment method is T/T: 30% deposit, with the remaining 70% paid before shipment after the agreed preparation and inspection steps. Confirm the vehicle allocation and schedule in the sales contract.
